I'm not in favor of the idea that other countries are a supporter of the leader of this country. That they desire one candidate over another. That they seemingly have a vested interest in who comes out on top. Like really, what business is it of theirs? If this country puts itself in the position of nestling up to other countries, it takes something away from this one. Other countries don't have to like this country, they just don't have to hate it. They should respect it. They shouldn't take it for granted and become complacent to it.
Let's clarify one important point. What gets this country bombed and makes crazy people fly planes into this buildings is hatred. It's hatred that causes these extreme acts to occur. This country doesn't need other countries to love it, it needs other countries not to hate it. I am in favor of, because I just invented it, "healthy condescendence".
What is healthy condescendense? Essentially, healthy condescendense is knowing that you are better than someone else, or another country, and you show it, and you live by it. But the difference is, that condescendense doesn't get you bombed. Condescendense
at worst, gets people in other countries to thumb their nose at you and say things like, "oh that country, they think they're all that,". Healthy condescendense doesn't cause hatred. It causes competition. Who knows, it could even stimulate the worlds markets and drive the race for better technology, medicines, and ideas. It would take the battles of the battle field and put them into the classroom and the boardroom. Other countries dont have to love this one. They don't have to cheer for it's leaders. And if they did, it would not be good for this country. All other countries have to do, and this should be this country's goal then focus on it's own problems, is not hate this one.
And that's from someone who knows what being hated is all about.
